Anna-Lucia Koerling, a fifth year medical student from The University of Cambridge and Winner of The Student Voice Prize 2019, spoke at The Unusual Suspects 2020 about what she learned from ‘David’ who has Neurofibromatosis Type 1. Anna-Lucia’s essay was chosen as the overall winner of the SVP 2019 for its beautiful story-telling of her encounter with David and the insights it gave her into the mental health burden of living with a rare disease.
