It’s Rare Disease Day!
Happy Rare Disease Day everyone! We have been astounded by all of the engagement we have received for this year’s campaign already. Don’t forget to post your stripy sock photos online #showyourstripes @medicsforrare. We can’t wait to see your efforts and will be highlighting some on our website soon….
Still time to engage and Learn Your Stripes
For those of you who have yet to engage, there is still time! Learn Your Stripes in under five minutes by watching out new mini training video. Better still, post it on your favourite social media platform #learnyourstripes.
Thank you
A huge thank you for all of your efforts. We have seen all sorts of engagement. Our supporters have shared their insights and stories to help drive the campaign from the start. We have already seen so many people wearing stripey socks and sharing our video and content online. We have seen posters put up in workplaces throughout the country. We even had a stripey cake sale and children speaking to their class.

Dr Graham Shortland and Dr Jamie Duckers, sporting their stripy socks at an event in Cardiff. Huge thanks to Pedal Power Cardiff – an all-inclusive cycling charity – for providing the SWAN bike.
Rare Disease Day is such a wonderful time to bring the community together for one single, important cause. So whether you are a person impacted with a rare condition, a carer or advocate, or a healthcare professional, medical student, influencer or leader, thank you for helping however you can.
